Instagram users can, and often do, share links by cutting and pasting text links in captions and comments, but there is no direct linking allowed on Instagram. If you paste a link into a post, your followers have to copy and paste the link into their web browser address bar.
Instagram blocks certain links because they are harmful to the community. For instance, some websites are commonly linked by spam accounts. On the other hand, other websites contain inappropriate content in them. “Add me” links are also blocked on Instagram where Telegram and Snapchat links cannot be added to your bio.
Go to instagram.com/username. For example, if the username is “johnsmith,” type in instagram.com/johnsmith as the URL. Click the post you want to save and copy the link at the top of your browser.
This is because Instagram doesn’t allow the use of links. There’s only one place Instagram will let you use a link and that’s in your bio. Compare this to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. which all give you the opportunity to post links to external sites using hyperlinks in your captions.
If you don’t have a verified account or 10,000 followers, you can use IGTV to activate the swipe-up feature. In order to do so, you must switch to a business account if you don’t already have one. Create a video using IGTV. You can add a link in the description of the video and that’s the way to get leads, for example.
Why does Instagram say Page Not Found?
The “User Not Found” error on Instagram either means that the user has changed their username, blocked you, deleted their account, their account is suspended, or their account is disabled. If the user blocked you, the “User Not Found” error will show up when you try to visit their profile.
Is Linktree banned on Instagram?
It is reported that Linktree, started as a link-in-bio tool for Instagram, was banned from Instagram in 2018, since it is noted as “breaking the community standards,” specifically as a spam website.
